Arthritis Medications

Vitamin C is important for the maintenance and repair of connective tissue, cartilage and bone which are all important to joint health. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps stop free radicals from damaging tissue, including joint tissue.
Antipsychotics

Some studies report that supplementation of vitamin C with atypical antipsychotics reduces oxidative stress and improves the outcome of schizophrenia. Consider supplementing with vitamin C in patients taking second-generation antipsychotics.

Anticoagulants / Antiplatelet Drugs

Concomitant use of warfarin with excessive doses of vitamin C (> 1000 mg per day) may alter the therapeutic benefits of warfarin and increase risk for clots. Caution patients to avoid excessive doses of vitamin C with warfarin and to have INRs checked if supplementing with vitamin C.
Lipid Drugs (Niacin)

Vitamin C in combination with other antioxidant vitamins (beta-carotene, selenium, and E) may reduce the therapeutic benefits of combinations of statins and niacin. Monitor lipid levels closely for potential changes in drug efficacy if using these antioxidants while taking statins + niacin.
